Frequently Asked Questions
Wrinkle reduction treatment involves the use of prescription-only medications designed to temporarily relax specific facial muscles. This can help reduce the appearance of expression lines and may help prevent deeper wrinkles from developing in certain individuals.
These treatments work by temporarily reducing movement in targeted facial muscles, typically those involved in repetitive expressions. When muscle activity is reduced, the overlying skin may appear smoother and more refreshed. Treatment is tailored to each person’s anatomy and concerns.
Results vary from person to person. Factors such as skin type, age, muscle strength, and how your body responds to the treatment can all influence the outcome. During your consultation, Dr Hadges will discuss what may be realistically achievable for you.
All medical procedures carry potential risks and side effects. Wrinkle reduction treatments may be suitable for some individuals, but not all. At our clinic, treatments are only performed after a thorough consultation to determine appropriateness and safety. If suitable, the procedure is carried out by Dr Stephen Hadges, a qualified medical doctor with extensive clinical experience. Your health, medical history, and individual needs will be carefully considered before proceeding.
Common areas that may be considered include the forehead, frown lines (between the eyebrows), crow’s feet (around the eyes), bunny lines (across the nose), chin dimpling, and visible tension in the neck. Whether treatment is appropriate will be assessed during your consultation.
Some individuals begin noticing results within 3–5 days, though it can take up to 10–14 days for full effect. The timeline can vary depending on the individual and the treatment area.
Results generally last between 3 to 4 months, though this varies based on individual metabolism, muscle strength, and lifestyle. Repeat treatments may be needed to maintain the desired effect.
Many patients seek a soft, natural-looking result that preserves facial expression. At our clinic, treatments are always personalised to respect your facial anatomy and aim for a subtle, refreshed appearance — not a “frozen” look.
Following treatment, you may be advised to avoid rubbing the area, lying flat, vigorous exercise, and alcohol for a short period. Full aftercare instructions will be provided at your appointment.
Some people choose to begin treatment as a preventive measure, aiming to reduce repetitive muscle movement that contributes to the formation of fine lines. Whether this is suitable for you will be assessed during your consultation.
There is generally minimal to no downtime. Some people may experience temporary redness, swelling, or mild bruising at the treatment site. Most clients return to normal activities shortly after the procedure.
Costs can vary depending on the number of areas treated, the amount of product required, and whether this treatment is part of a broader plan. At Dr Hadges Medical Aesthetics, all pricing reflects the high level of doctor-led care and clinical expertise. A consultation with Dr Hadges will provide a personalised plan and transparent fee structure, with no obligation to proceed.
To book, please contact our clinic by phone, submit an enquiry via our website, or visit us in person. All treatments begin with a face-to-face consultation with Dr Hadges to ensure the treatment is appropriate, medically sound, and tailored to your needs.
